Home Town Holiday scheduled for Dec 11 in downtown Whitehall

The second annual Home Town Holiday will take place on Saturday, December 11th, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. All children will receive a gift from Santa, free hot chocolate & home baked cookies on the deck, marshmallow roast at the Caboose Museum, Ride the Christmas Train provided by The Knights of Columbus,  and many other activities.

Constantine ends Montague's title reign

For the first time since 2007, there will be a new Division 6 state football champion.

Constantine scored 35 unanswered points to beat Montague 42-7, ending the Wildcats' bid to capture three consecutive state titles.

Brandon Moore's 91-yard touchdown reception helped the Wildcats take a 7-6 lead in the first quarter, but Montague would be held off the scoreboard for the remainder of the game.

Montague (9-3) committed six turnovers in the loss.

Students, families invited to celebrate school pride at hockey games

Muskegon Opportunity and the Muskegon Lumberjacks invite students and families from the Whitehall and Mona Shores school districts to celebrate school pride at the Nov. 19 and Nov. 20 hockey games at the L.C. Walker Arena, 955 Fourth St.

The Whitehall School District will be in the spotlight Friday, Nov. 19. The Mona Shores School District will take center stage Saturday, Nov. 20. Clips from the Muskegon Opportunity KnowHow2Go Road Show at each high school will be played on the video board throughout the game. Attendees from the schools also will be featured on the video board throughout the game.

The Lumberjacks take on the Dubuque (Iowa) Fighting Saints at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19. The Lumberjacks battle the Cedar Rapids (Iowa) RoughRiders at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20.

Whitehall and Mona Shores school district families can get discounted tickets for their respective games.

Howmet Playhouse presents "From Here to Eternity"

The HarborLight Movie Series, in conjunction with the Arts Council of White Lake and the White Lake Community Library, presents the 1953 classic film From Here to Eternity. Based upon the James Jones novel, and starring Burt Lancaster and Frank Sinatra, the film won 8 Oscars.

Open mic afternoons at the Utopian Marketplace

Kent County accident injures two

Oakfield Township, Mich. (WZZM) -  An early morning accident injured to young men in Oakfield Township.

Kent County Sheriff's Deputies say the accident happened around six Sunday morning when a car traveling east on 16 Mile Road lost control going into a curve, hit a tree and overturned.

Both the driver, a 22 year old man and the passenger a 24 year old man were transported to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital for injuries they received from the crash.

Only one car was involved in the accident and it is still being investigated by the Kent County Sheriff's Department.
