Montague Wildcats devour Orchard View Cardinals 32-19

(WZZM) With the second longest winning streak in the state, Montague faced Muskegon County rival Orchard View in the season opener.

Pat Collins is back for his seventh season as head coach, but he's one of the few faces returning from the two-time defending division 6 state champions. The Wildcats return just three starters on offense and defense. All-state quarterback Cody Kater is now playing college football at Cincinnati.

Questions about his replacement wouldn't linger for long as Montague looked to win their 21st game in a row.

Orchard View took their opening drive deep into Montague territory, but the Wildcat defense got a key fourth down stop.

Kater's replacement, Travis Cockerill, went to work right away finding Brandon Moore on a slip screen. He picked up 45 on the play. Cockerill would finish what he started finding Steven Murdoch on a three-yard touchdown pass to put his team up 6-0.

The Wildcats went on to top the Cardinals 32-19, keeping their win-streak alive.
