Andrew Jagniecki: Paintings, Prints and Etchings at Montague’s White River Gallery

Montague, MIVisit White River Gallery 2-4 p.m. April 15 to meet April’s multi-talented featured artist, Andrew Jagniecki. Jagniecki’s prints, paintings, woodcuts, etchings and his wood carving are all being featured April 4-29 as the Gallery swings into a new season.

Jagniecki is university-trained in all studio art disciplines. His work, from two-dimensional paintings to oversize figures carved from tree trunks, has been exhibited in Grand Rapids’ first two ArtPrize competitions, and in East Coast, Southern and Midwest galleries and shows. His art work has graced the Bette Clarke Cannon Gallery and Muskegon Museum of Art in Muskegon, and art and woodcut shows in Poland and Japan.  Most recently, his stump-carved table was juried into White River Gallery’s Change of Season show.

“I like to use the things we see every day as the topic of my work,” he said.

Jagniecki’s studio is a converted garage at his Fruitland Township home—big enough to accommodate everything from massive panels he’s carving to prints drying after being run through a 1940s press. To see the array of media in which he works, visit andrewjagniecki.com or andrewjagniecki.blogspot.com, or “like” him on White River Gallery’s Facebook page.
