WHITEHALL, Mich.—Learn about how you can “green up” your life during a free program Wednesday, Feb. 19.

White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the seminar, called “It’s Not Easy Being Green- Or Is It?”  The event is open to everyone and runs from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at White Lake Community Library in Whitehall.

"We are excited to offer a ‘green living’ seminar.  Practicing sustainability is important to maintaining our area's recreational assets and special quality of life," says Amy Van Loon, executive director of the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.

Presenters include long-time environmental advocate Tanya Cabala of Great Lakes Consulting and Mike Mack, former chief operating officer of MasterTag and owner of Professional Resources.  Participants can learn easy tips to reduce, reuse and recycle everyday household and business waste.  Projects underway  at the White Lake Community Library and Montague Methodist Church will also be showcased along with sustainability resources available in the White Lake area.

There is no cost for the seminar, but registration is required by emailing info@whitelake.org or by calling the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce at (231) 893-4585.
