My Town Montague: Meinert Park awarded funding for upgrades

MUSKEGON, Mich.—The National Park Service is investing tens of thousands of dollars into improving two West Michigan parks.

Cutler Park in Byron Center and Meinert Park in Montague are getting $98,785 and $31,284 respectively.  The funding will be used to improve park facilities and increase accessibility for people leaving with disabilities.

“Families across West Michigan visit parks just like Meinert and Cutler to enjoy the outdoors and relax,” said Sen. Debbie Stabenow.  “This support will make it easier for children with disabilities to play at Meinert Park and improve facilities at Cutler Park so visitors can have more fun swimming or picnicking.”

The funding is made possible through the National Park Service’s Land and Water Conservation Fund.
