The leaves are nearing their peak color in West Michigan.  You don’t have to go far to catch the fall colors.  One beautiful tour starts in Montague and takes you through Rothbury, New Era, Shelby, Hart, Pentwater and the Silver Lake Sand Dunes area.

North on US-31BR, north on Whitehall Rd through Rothbury. East on Cleveland Rd, north on 90th Ave, west on Arthur Rd, north on Oceana Dr through New Era, Shelby and Hart. West on Monroe Rd (becomes US-31BR) to Long Bridge Rd along Pentwater Lake. South on Ridge Ave (becomes Hazel Rd, then Silver Lake Rd at Silver Lake). South on 18th Ave, west on Buchanan, south on 16th Ave (becomes Scenic Dr, then Webster Rd). South on 48th Ave (becomes Lehman Rd in Muskegon County), east on Meinert Park Rd, south on Chase Rd, west on Hancock Rd and south on Old Channel Trail.

Discover the beauty of the White Lake Area.  Naturalists will lead guided tours of local natural areas.  A variety of topics relating to native plants and wildlife will be covered, depending on the time of year.  The walks are appropriate for adults and familes; no children allowed without parents.

Walks will take place the first Saturday of the month beginning in June and continuing through October.  Walks begin at 10:30am sharp and last until approximately noon.

Dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.  Bring water and snacks if needed.  Other optional items include: hat, suncreen, insect repellent, umbrella, binoculars, cameras, sketchpad, and pencils or pens.
