My Town Whitehall: Millage on February ballot would upgrade fire services

WHITEHALL TOWNSHIP, Mich.-- Voters in Whitehall, Whitehall Township and Fruitland Township will soon decide a proposed tax to improve area fire services.

The millage would go toward upgrading equipment, replacing and relocating the White Lake Fire Authority's  Fire Station 1 and improving Fire Station 2.  The proposed 10-year tax is for up to 1.65 mills, amounting to $165 for every $100,000 in taxable property value.  The millage would generate an estimated $637,780.91 in its first year.

The measure is expected to be on the Feb. 24, 2015 ballot.  You can find a copy of the millage proposal below.
