Hart-Montague Trail undergoes $4M in improvements
News

MONTAGUE, Mich. (WZZM) -- The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is spending around $4 million to widen the Hart-Montague Trail and make it safer.

The bike path will go from eight to 10 feet in width and where the trail crosses roads, it will be angled to slow bikers and get them to stop.

The state park trail is more than 20 years old and this is its first significant repair project.

Work on one section north of Montague is finished; other mile-long sections of the trail will close during construction.

Crews should finish by November.
