Weekend events celebrate fall on the lakeshore

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) --

Saturday's forecast for Muskegon is mostly sunny and 56 degrees.

"This weekend it is going to be fantastic," says Kristin Knop, the tourism coordinator for the Muskegon County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Muskegon County tourism promoters want you to drive from the old red caboose in Muskegon to the one in Whitehall. It's the annual Depot to Depot Fall Color Tour. It's a free event and great for families.

The route is one of the county's most scenic, especially when the trees turn red, yellow, and orange.

"You will go around Muskegon Lake and then onto Scenic Drive up to the Whitehall area," Knop said.
